When Jessica Botha and her husband, Andries Strydom, opened their first restaurant in 2017, they weren’t simply starting a business. They were creating a place where people could connect, share stories, and enjoy wholesome food made with love. That vision has grown into Jessica’s Restaurants, a proudly South African brand that embodies warmth, family, and great taste.

From a Passion for Food to a Beloved Brand

Jessica’s Restaurants began as a simple dream shared by two food lovers. Jessica, a trained Cordon Bleu chef, and Andries, her husband and business partner, wanted to build more than just a restaurant. Their goal was to create a lifestyle dining experience where fresh, flavourful dishes are served in a space that feels like home.

Since then, Jessica’s has become a familiar name across South Africa, known for friendly service, bright interiors, and a menu that balances comfort with creativity. Each branch offers its own sense of place but carries the same heart, the joy of bringing people together around good food.

The Chef Behind the Brand

Jessica’s love for cooking began long before the restaurant’s success. After graduating in 2001 from Cape Town’s prestigious Silwood Cookery School, she completed a three-year Cordon Bleu programme that would shape her culinary philosophy. She then spent eight years in the United Kingdom as a private chef, gaining global experience before returning home to South Africa.

Her time abroad taught her precision and versatility, but it was back home that she found her true inspiration: her family. Married to Andries and a mother of three, Jessica often describes her children as her biggest inspiration and toughest critics. The family’s shared meals have become the heartbeat of the brand itself. “Our favourite family time is catching up around a table, enjoying delicious food,” Jessica says, capturing the essence of what Jessica’s Restaurants stand for.

A Menu Built on Freshness

Jessica’s menu reads like a love letter to simple, honest food. Expect fresh salads, nourishing breakfasts, gourmet wraps, and hearty mains prepared with care and locally sourced ingredients. The pizzas and burgers are crowd favourites, while lighter options and seasonal specials ensure there’s always something new to try.

Each dish reflects Jessica’s belief that good food doesn’t need to be complicated. It just needs to be made well. This focus on freshness and flavour is what keeps customers returning, whether for a morning coffee, a family lunch, or a relaxed dinner with friends.

More Than a Meal

Jessica’s Restaurants have become local landmarks, places where celebrations, Sunday catch-ups, and quiet moments all find their place. The brand also hosts events and markets that celebrate local artisans, creating spaces that champion creativity and community spirit.

In a world that often feels rushed, Jessica’s reminds us to slow down, gather around the table, and reconnect. Every meal feels like an invitation to share life’s simple joys.

Looking Ahead

As Jessica’s Restaurants continue to grow across South Africa, the brand remains rooted in what started it all: passion, family, and authenticity. What began as one couple’s dream has become a nationwide name synonymous with wholesome food and heartfelt hospitality.

Jessica’s is more than a restaurant; it’s a reminder of how good life tastes when shared.
