The space glows with old-world charm: antique chandeliers, emerald creepers climbing the walls, and a crackling fireplace that draws you in. Family-run by chef Ciro Molinaro and his daughter Gabriella, it blends Italian warmth with the relaxed elegance Joburg diners love.
Tea Time with a Twist
Forget the predictable cucumber sandwiches. Afternoon tea at Gabriella’s is a creative reimagining of a classic tradition. Served Wednesday to Sunday, it features savoury phyllo pockets, bruschetta with rosa tomatoes, salmon-and-cream-cheese bites, and delicate tartlets inspired by Italian recipes.
The dessert course is an experience in itself. Think soft fudge squares, fruit-topped apple crumble, and tiny macarons filled with cream and preserves. Each treat pairs beautifully with a pot of tea or a glass of bubbly.
Guests can choose from three options: Standard High Tea (R325), Vegan or Vegetarian High Tea, or Champagne High Tea (R395), each presented like a story on a tiered tray.
