A fright night for the whole family

Edenvale is gearing up for a frightfully good time this October as the Halloween Night Market 2025 creeps back to the German Club (Deutscher Verein) on Friday, 31 October, from 6 pm to 11 pm. Hosted by HeartSpace Events & Markets, the annual event promises a full evening of eerie fun, food, and festive community spirit.

This much-loved market has become a highlight on the local calendar, drawing families, foodies, and costume enthusiasts from across the East Rand. More than a thousand people have already marked themselves as “interested” online, signalling a packed night of spine-tingling entertainment.

Trick-or-treat trails and tasty treats

For one night only, Plantation Road will transform into a Halloween wonderland. Visitors can browse through dozens of market stalls filled with crafts, décor, accessories, and spooky gifts, all while enjoying mouthwatering street food and refreshing drinks.

True to tradition, every stall will take part in a trick-or-treat experience, giving the little ones a safe, festive way to fill their bags with sweets. There’s also a Best-Dressed competition with prizes up for grabs across age categories, so everyone is encouraged to come in costume; the more creative, the better.

Live music, local flair

To keep the Halloween energy flowing, local band Summit Nation will perform live from 7 pm to 10:30 pm, bringing their signature rock energy to the festive crowd. Families can expect a proper South African “jol” atmosphere, part night market, part community celebration, all wrapped in Halloween fun.

Entry costs R30 per person (children included), and organisers remind visitors to bring some cash, as not all vendors have card facilities. Luckily, there’s an ATM available on-site at the German Club for convenience.
