Two Dead After High-Speed Chase, Shoot-Out at Westville Petrol Station

A dramatic high-speed chase in Westville ended in violence on Thursday morning, leaving two suspects dead.

The pursuit concluded at a petrol station opposite the Pavilion shopping centre in Spine Road.

The Scene

Garrith Jamieson, spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, said paramedics arrived to find EMRS, SAPS, and security officials already on scene.

“One of the suspects was fatally wounded in a gun battle during the shoot-out, while the second suspect fell to his death while trying to evade arrest.”

The second suspect attempted to escape by jumping over a wallbut fell to his death.

A third suspect was not injured and is believed to have been taken into police custody.

The Investigation

Police have cordoned off the area for further investigation.

The exact events leading up to the incident remain unknown, but SAPS is investigating.
