South Africa’s biggest online PC retailers are lining up for November with sales that could make this Black Friday one of the most competitive yet. Evetech, Wootware, and Dreamware Tech have revealed their plans, offering everything from half-price gaming laptops to discounts chosen by customers themselves.

Evetech raises the stakes

Evetech is launching its Black Friday sale early on 14 November and keeping it live until Cyber Monday on 1 December. Procurement manager Ibrahim Mirza says shoppers can expect daily “shock-drop” deals, with discounts of up to 50% on gaming laptops, desktops, GPUs, monitors, keyboards, and headsets.

Bundle deals are also on the cards, with Mirza claiming some offers will be unlike anything seen before in South Africa. The retailer is aiming for double-digit sales growth compared to 2024, despite tighter budgets.

Wootware stretches the savings

Wootware’s strategy is to extend the season. Sales and procurement head Dimitri Mackor confirmed that discounts will run through November rather than being limited to one weekend. While details will only be revealed at launch, Wootware’s past sales have included both clearance discounts and sharp cuts on high-demand gaming gear.

The company has already recorded higher traffic than last year and recommends that customers subscribe to its newsletter for first access to the best deals.

Dreamware invites requests

Dreamware Tech is adding a unique spin by letting customers request their dream discounts. Co-founder Brent Raftopoulus says shoppers can email or WhatsApp the store with specific product requests, which Dreamware will try to secure at reduced prices through partners like Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI.

Dates are still being finalised, but Dreamware may either run month-long sales or stick to its traditional week-long Black Friday to Cyber Monday promotion. Raftopoulus notes that economic challenges and tariffs make it difficult to predict consumer behaviour, but many South Africans may be saving up for these deals.

A November showdown

For PC gamers and hardware enthusiasts, Black Friday is still the best chance to upgrade without breaking the bank. With Evetech chasing record-breaking bundles, Wootware spreading savings over the month, and Dreamware letting customers shape the specials, South Africa’s tech scene is heading into a fierce November showdown.
