Sixty60’s New Pet Delivery Feature Has Tails Wagging Across SA

Who’s a Good App? Sixty60 Now Delivers Pet Food to Your Door
South Africa’s fur parents just got a major win, thanks to a new on-demand partnership between Shoprite’s Sixty60 app and the rapidly growing pet retailer, Petshop Science. Whether it’s gourmet kibble for your floof or an emergency stash of chew toys, you can now get same-day delivery for pet supplies in Johannesburg, Cape Town and parts of the Eastern Cape.
The service is already live in select suburbs, with a national rollout expected by the end of July 2025.
Convenient for You, a Feast for Fido
The new feature brings over 3 500 pet products from more than 80 top brands to the Sixty60 platform, including those giant bags of dog food that usually feel like a workout to carry. Best part? They’ll be delivered to your doorstep in 60-minute time slots, straight from the nearest Petshop Science store.
All orders are placed exclusively via the Sixty60 mobile app, and Shoprite has confirmed that same-day fulfilment is now available from stores across Cape Town, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.
Petshop Science is Having a Moment
While Sixty60’s fast grocery delivery has become a staple for many South Africans, Petshop Science is proving to be a heavyweight in the local pet market. The brand launched in 2021 and already boasts 143 stores across eight provinces. Sales surged by nearly 57% in just the last six months of 2024.
This latest move into the on-demand space adds even more bite to their bark.
South Africans React with Paws-itive Vibes
The local response on social media has been nothing short of adorable. Pet parents have been sharing their excitement, with tweets ranging from “Finally, someone gets us!” to “My dog just heard the news and started wagging like crazy.” It’s clear that convenience, especially when it comes to our pets, is something Joburgers are happy to invest in.
Looking Ahead: A Growing Market on the Move
South Africa’s pet economy is booming, and this collaboration between a household grocery name and a specialist pet store signals how seriously retailers are taking the shift toward digital convenience. For pet lovers juggling busy schedules, this could be a game-changer.
