A growing Squad of Love for the De Klerks

South Africa’s beloved pocket rocket, Faf De Klerk, is adding another little girl to his team, and he couldn’t be happier. Alongside his wife Miné, the Springbok scrumhalf shared that their family of three is soon becoming four.

The couple revealed their pregnancy news over the weekend with a sweet and cheeky Instagram video featuring their one-year-old daughter, Remi-Ré, and a lineup of their swimwear brand’s signature “Faffies”. In a cute twist, the toddler was given the important job of selecting between pink or blue Faffies and her tiny hands went straight for pink.

“Surprise! We’re growing the De Klerk team!” the couple captioned the clip, proudly confirming they’re expecting another baby girl.

Remi-Ré Promoted to Big Sister

The De Klerks welcomed Remi-Ré in early 2024 after publicly announcing their first pregnancy in January that same year. Since then, their social media has offered fans small, heartfelt glimpses into family life, from berry-themed birthday parties to laid-back moments in matching swimwear.

Miné and Faf, who got married in October 2022 in a romantic ceremony in Franschhoek, seem to be embracing this new chapter with joy and ease.

Love and Excitement From the Rugby Family

As expected, their announcement was met with a flood of love. Rugby wives and local celebs filled the comments with congratulations.

Fellow rugby mom Marise Pollard chimed in with, “Yeayyyyyy!!! I’m so excited,” while Frances Reinach and former Miss South Africa Tatum Keshwar shared their own heartfelt messages.

And it seems pink is the theme this season. Faf and Miné aren’t the only ones preparing for a little girl. Springbok teammates Eben and Anlia Etzebeth also recently announced they’re expecting another daughter, as did Handré and Marise Pollard just weeks earlier.

From the Field to the Family Frontlines

It’s no secret that South Africans love their rugby heroes, but watching them step into dad mode? That’s a different kind of wholesome. Faf, famous for his scrappy style and no-fear attitude on the field, now finds himself swapping tackles for tea parties and baby bottles.
