Overcoming a Life-Changing Accident
Last September, Kaylow’s life changed dramatically when he was involved in a car crash that left him temporarily wheelchair-bound. The incident required multiple surgeries, including hip surgery, and forced him to pause his music career while he focused on recovery.
In an exclusive interview, Kaylow (real name Kelello Segoana) spoke openly about the physical and emotional challenges he faced during this time. “There were moments I felt broken, unable to get out of bed. But giving up was never an option. I have too many dreams to stop now,” he said.
Despite the trauma, Kaylow remains hopeful. “I believe I’ll be back on my feet not just with hope, but with certainty. I wasn’t meant to die because there is still something God wants me to do here.”
A New Album with a Special Tribute
As part of his comeback, Kaylow is preparing an album that many fans have been eagerly awaiting. One of the standout tracks is a tribute collaboration titled “Respect” with the late DJ Sumbody, an artist beloved in the South African music scene.
Kaylow explained the meaning behind the collaboration: “I hope this song promotes unity and a positive vibe among people. It’s music that brings us together.”
He also plans to release another deeply personal track called “Broken Heart,” which reflects the emotional side of his recovery.

Music as a Source of Strength
Kaylow credits his music and the support of his team for keeping him motivated throughout his rehabilitation. Daily physiotherapy sessions and encouragement from his DJ and pianist have helped him stay focused on his goal of performing again.
“Being on stage and giving my fans music that feels real is what drives me,” Kaylow said. “My international bookings were paused, but they remind me that my global breakthrough is only delayed, not denied.”
Looking Ahead
With the album set to drop soon, Kaylow’s story is one of resilience and determination. His blend of amapiano, R&B, and house is ready to captivate fans both locally and internationally.
