More Than Just a Mogul: Man B’s Real Story Is About Uplifting Others

If you’ve been active on South African social media over the past year, you’ve likely come across Mlindelwa Sipho Tyekana, better known as Man B. Often spotted in designer fits, rubbing shoulders with celebrities, or passionately supporting his beloved Kaizer Chiefs, Man B’s true legacy runs deeper. He is transforming personal hardship into opportunity for the next generation.

From sleeping with nothing to his name to becoming a construction boss, record label founder, and youth advocate, his journey is a blueprint for resilience. But Man B’s success is not just about building his own empire; it is about opening doors for those who have never had a chance.

East London’s Unlikely Kingmaker

Born and raised in the Eastern Cape, Man B grew up without access, wealth, or opportunity. What he had was grit, a magnetic personality, and a sharp instinct for social media. His digital charisma quickly turned him into a well-known influencer on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.

The real turning point came after the death of iconic South African musician Zahara in 2023. Witnessing her home repossessed and her funeral funded by the state sparked a fire in him, a realisation that many local artists were being exploited by an industry that gave nothing back.

In response, he launched Man B Entertainment, a record label dedicated to helping talented but underfunded Eastern Cape artists break into the scene with dignity and ownership. No exploitation. No empty promises. Just mentorship, fair contracts, and a clean platform. As of 2025, he is nurturing 38 young artists in Buffalo City, with plans to take their music national.

From Fan to Fashion Figure

Man B’s influence extends beyond music and business. He is now a proud friend of Bogart Man, a luxury menswear brand based in Sandton. For someone who once could not afford basics, walking in the latest high-end fashion is a full-circle moment.

And then there is the Kaizer Chiefs cap he rarely takes off; more than a style statement, it is a symbol of identity. His loud love for the team helped build a loyal online community around him.

Boys Too Need the Love

Beyond the spotlight, Man B uses his platform to support South Africa’s often overlooked youth, especially boys. Growing up without a father figure, he understands the silent struggles many boys face, which often lead to crime or dropping out of school.

In 2021, he launched the Man B Foundation, a grassroots initiative running projects like “Boys Too Need the Love,” providing toiletries, mentorship, and school support to underprivileged boys. He even funded and built toilets at his former school to ensure learners’ dignity and health.

His motivation? “I know how it feels to have nothing,” he says. “That is why I do my best to help others escape poverty whenever I can.”

The Man Behind the Hype

Earlier this year, Man B made headlines after a public disagreement with Somizi Mhlongo over a birthday event. What stood out was how they resolved it: openly and gracefully via Instagram Live. It was a small moment that revealed Man B’s growth: outspoken yet committed to mending fences when it counts.

Man B is loud, flashy, and unapologetically himself, but beneath it all is a man who never forgets where he came from and has no plans to stray from his roots.

What’s Next?

With his label expanding, fashion influence rising, and a generation of young artists and boys looking up to him, Man B is not slowing down. His goal is simple: change lives, not just in East London but across South Africa.

In a country where success stories often fade without legacy, Man B is rewriting the script, not just for himself but for those still waiting for their breakthrough.
