Born to Shine

Before her international victory, Pearl captured hearts at home by winning Miss Teenager South Africa in late 2024. Her confidence, poise, and presence stood out just as much as her beauty.

But Pearl is more than a pretty face. Her platform is rooted in youth empowerment, a cause that resonated deeply with both the South African and international judges.

Her heartfelt responses and a stunning national costume that beautifully blended Limpopo’s heritage with elegance proved she didn’t just belong on the global stage – she owned it.

“A Dream Come True”

At the glittering ceremony in Peru, an emotional Pearl expressed her gratitude:

“I am deeply honoured and grateful. Representing South Africa and Limpopo on this international stage has been a dream come true,” she said.

“I look forward to using this platform to inspire young women in our country to pursue their ambitions with courage and kindness.”

Social Media and Community Celebrate

The Miss Teenager SA organisation praised Pearl as “a shining symbol of South African empowerment and cultural pride on the global stage.” Supporters and fellow contestants flooded social media with messages of pride and joy.

Meanwhile, Polokwane Mayor John Mpe is set to welcome Pearl upon her return at OR Tambo International Airport, celebrating her achievement as a proud moment for both Limpopo and South Africa.

What Makes This Win Different?

While South Africa has produced many global pageant stars, Pearl’s win marks the first time the country has claimed the Miss Teen Model International crown.

Unlike traditional beauty contests, this pageant celebrates youth culture, diversity, and advocacy. Contestants are judged on their ability to speak with conviction, carry their culture with pride, and demonstrate global awareness – qualities Pearl exemplified.

What’s Next for Pearl?

With a historic title and growing platform, Pearl is expected to focus on youth development and representation, both locally and internationally. Through mentoring, public speaking, and strategic partnerships, she is poised to inspire a new generation.

In a world where young women are often told to shrink themselves, Pearl Mathebula is doing the opposite – taking up space, claiming her voice, and showing the world what South African brilliance looks like.

And honestly? We love to see it.
