Truck overturns after impact
Emergency crews reached the scene and found the truck overturned with the bakkie crushed on the side. Early reports said the truck failed to stop at the intersection. The bakkie struck the truck on the side during the R33 R34 crash.
Paramedics work in unsafe conditions
KwaZulu Private Ambulance spokesperson Craig Botha said crews arrived to a chaotic and unsafe area. He said the heavy damage created risks for responders, so teams worked fast to stabilise patients.

Triage teams assessed six patients.

Botha said strong cooperation between all agencies helped clear hazards from the overturned truck and speed up treatment.

All six patients were stabilised and transported to nearby hospitals. No entrapments were reported.
