‘A Light That Lit Up the Room’: Tributes Pour In for Beloved Grade 11 Learner Anathi Mtshare
A KwaZulu-Natal school community is in mourning after the passing of a beloved Grade 11 learner following a short illness.
Anathi Mtshare, a learner at Pietermaritzburg Girls High School, has died, leaving her family, friends, and schoolmates devastated.
A Cherished Member
The school shared the news in a heartfelt post, describing Anathi as a cherished member of the GHS family.
“Anathi was a cherished member of our GHS family and we are deeply devastated by this loss,” the school said.
She was admired for her strength, warmth, and kindness.
“She had a bubbly personality that lit up a room and was known as a charming, friendly and polite learner. Her thoughtfulness and genuine care for others touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.”
Anathi was also a member of the Girls for God Society and a valued member of her school’s rugby team.
The Legacy
“Her passing leaves a profound emptiness in our school community. Anathi’s life, though far too short, brought joy, compassion and light to all who knew her and her memory will live on in our hearts,” the school said.
