Official SASSA Grant Payment Dates for September 2025

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the official grant payment dates for September 2025, covering old age, disability, child support, and Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grants.

Payment schedule for September 2025

• Old Age Grant: Tuesday, 2 September 2025

• Disability Grant: Wednesday, 3 September 2025

• Child Support and all other grants: Thursday, 4 September 2025

SASSA advised beneficiaries not to rush to collection points on the first payment day, as this often leads to long queues. Planning ahead can help reduce waiting times.

Warning about unauthorised deductions

Alongside the payment schedule, SASSA reminded beneficiaries to be alert to fraud and unauthorised deductions. Many beneficiaries continue to face unlawful deductions from their grants.

If you notice money deducted from your grant without consent:

• Report it immediately to your nearest SASSA office

• Lodge a dispute by sending your ID number and the name of the financial service provider via SMS to 34548

SASSA confirmed that legal protections are in place:

• Only one deduction per month is allowed

• Deductions cannot exceed 10% of the grant

• A deduction is valid only if the beneficiary gave explicit consent
