Tragic End to Umbilo Search: Six-Year-Old Found in Residential Pool

The search for a missing six-year-old in Umbilo, Durban, turned heartbreaking on Monday evening when the child was found floating in a residential swimming pool at Brazilia Place.
Last Seen in the Early Evening
According to reports, the young boy went missing around 6pm, sparking a frantic search across the neighbourhood. Residents and security personnel immediately joined the effort, while ALS Paramedics remained on standby in case of emergency.
Garrith Jamieson of ALS Paramedics described the grim discovery. “Around 8:35pm, patrollers and security officials found the child in a residential pool. He was pulled from the water and despite intervention efforts, he suffered fatal injuries. There was nothing more paramedics could have done,” he said.
Authorities on Scene
The child was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the area was cordoned off before being handed over to police. Jamieson confirmed that the incident is now under formal investigation.
