Launched by the creative team behind Play Braamfontein, The City Beach Club is exactly what it sounds like: an urban beach party without the long drive to the coast. It’s playful, vibrant, and designed for good times only.

Open every Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 8 pm, the space transforms into a sandy, sun-drenched escape filled with music, drinks, and laid-back fashion. The club has quickly become a favourite for young locals looking for something fresh, and yes, it’s 21 and over only, which keeps the crowd relaxed and grown.

More than just vibes: What to expect

Think DJs spinning all day. Think cold drinks, coastal energy, rooftop sun, and a crowd that knows how to dress for it. Fashion here matters. So does the music. Whether you’re there to mingle or dance, it’s easy to feel like you’ve stepped into a beachfront bar in Ibiza, except you’re five minutes from the Mandela Bridge.

Food is available on-site, though guests are encouraged to arrive early if they want a prime lounging spot. And while tickets go live online every Tuesday (R100 online or R120 at the door), the limited entry means this space never feels overcrowded, just intimate enough to feel exclusive but social enough to meet new people.
