Joburg, brace yourselves, Chester Missing and Conrad Koch are back with a fresh puppet-fuelled satirical blast. Their brand-new comedy show, Puppet Power, lands at the Pieter Toerien Theatre, Montecasino, from 10 to 13 July 2025. It marks the opening of their national tour and promises a mix of sharp political jabs, laugh-out-loud puppetry and total absurdity.

Puppets That Punch

No puppet is safe. Chester Missing takes centre stage, but with him comes a lively ensemble. Look out for Gordon Ratsy, the celebrity-chef rat, and a surprise talking dinosaur voiced by a lucky audience member. Returning favourites include DJ Hoodie (spinning live beats), Hilton the party ostrich, Mr Dixon the forever-stressed teacher, and Gunter the ultra-anxious German mosquito.

Satire Dressed as Silliness

Conrad Koch describes the show as “99 per cent silliness with a dash of satirical truth”. They skew modern-day culture, where today’s news becomes tomorrow’s TikTok clip, and how everyone unwittingly dances on someone else’s strings, whether at work, at home or in politics.

Next Stop: The Rest of South Africa
