DStv Delicious Festival Returns to Kyalami: Music, Food, and Heritage Weekend Magic

Johannesburg’s biggest spring celebration is back
Every September, Joburgers look forward to the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival powered by LottoStar, and 2025 is no exception. On Saturday, 20 September, the gates at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit will open for a full day of rhythm, flavour, and culture. The festival has become an essential part of the city’s Heritage Day weekend, and its return marks the start of spring in true South African style.
More than a festival
What makes Delicious different is that it isn’t just about eating and listening to music. It has evolved into a cultural celebration where food, fashion, and music meet. The festival is known for bringing together global icons and local legends, creating moments where South Africans can see themselves reflected on stage and in the crowd.
At the heart of it all lies the food village, which has built its own cult following. Expect gourmet creations from leading chefs, sizzling street food favourites, and proudly South African dishes given bold new twists. It’s a space where the aroma of smoky grills blends with the sound of live beats.
Where heritage meets hospitality
Festival-goers can choose between general access or one of the premium hospitality lounges. The Injabulo Luxury Lounge offers sweeping terrace views of the main stage, live audio-visual feeds, curated décor, and unlimited local drinks. The Delicious Lounge, meanwhile, is set inside the main arena with its own activations, cash bar, and access to the Proudly South African Delicious Mile. Both lounges come with comforts like air-conditioning, private restrooms, and complimentary parking permits.
A Joburg tradition
In a city that never sleeps, festivals are often fleeting. Yet Delicious has managed to cement itself as a Joburg tradition. Social media always lights up with vibrant style moments and plate-after-plate posts, turning the event into a showcase of what it means to celebrate identity, community, and joy in South Africa.
With no under-18s allowed and a strong emphasis on responsible enjoyment, the organisers also keep a careful balance between big fun and safety. The Kyalami circuit’s e-hailing zone and cashless payments add a layer of convenience for those making a full day of it.
Why you should go
The DStv Delicious Festival isn’t just another event on the Joburg calendar. It’s where people gather to connect, dress to express, and experience flavours and sounds that stretch across cultures. Whether you’re there for the groove, the food, or simply the energy of the crowd, this festival promises the kind of atmosphere that defines springtime in the city.
