Festival of Motoring 2025: Three Days of Speed, Style, and Family Fun at Kyalami

A Showcase Bigger Than Ever
Johannesburg’s motoring calendar has one event that towers above the rest: the Festival of Motoring, returning from 29 to 31 August 2025 at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand. Over the years, this showcase has grown into the largest industry-supported auto show in South Africa and on the continent, bringing together car manufacturers, custom builders, lifestyle brands, and, most importantly, thousands of South Africans with a passion for motoring.
Where Enthusiasts and Families Meet
The beauty of the Festival is that it is not just for petrolheads. Yes, there are more than 100 exhibitors offering everything from high-end vehicles and custom builds to accessories and lifestyle products, but there is also a full family-friendly experience.
Visitors can watch or even participate in over 10,000 test drives throughout the weekend, guided by professional drivers on the world-renowned Kyalami Circuit. Off the track, there’s a dedicated 4×4 course for those who love the grit of off-roading, plus a self-handling track for those wanting to get behind the wheel themselves.
And when the adrenaline dips, guests can recharge at a hub of food stalls, live entertainment, and family activities, proving that this festival is as much about community and lifestyle as it is about horsepower.
Drawing Crowds from Across South Africa
One of the most striking things about the Festival of Motoring is its reach. Attendees come from over 210 towns and cities across South Africa, turning Kyalami into a true meeting point of automotive culture. It’s this national draw that gives the event its unique buzz: strangers bonding over a love of speed, collectors sharing insights, and families making memories against the backdrop of roaring engines.
On social media, past editions of the festival have trended as visitors posted everything from close-ups of luxury supercars to kids’ delighted reactions to their first track experiences. Expect this year’s edition to spark the same kind of conversation online, as thousands share their highlights.
