Every spring, when Johannesburg bursts into purple jacaranda bloom, the city gears up for one of its most treasured traditions: The Glenshiel Fair. This year’s edition runs from 22 to 25 October 2025, promising another weekend of elegance, energy, and community connection in the leafy heart of Westcliff.

Held at the historic Glenshiel Estate, this open-air market blends artisanal craftsmanship with a warm, festive atmosphere. More than just a shopping experience, it has become a highlight of Joburg’s social calendar, a place where style meets heart, and every purchase gives back.

Local Craftsmanship, Global Style

The 2025 fair brings together over 90 vendors from across South Africa and beyond, including artisans from the UK, Zimbabwe, the Cape, and the Natal Midlands. Each stall reflects creativity and quality, from handcrafted bags, jewellery, and scarves to luxury home décor and accessories.

Visitors can also find bespoke Christmas decorations, stationery, and tableware, perfect for early festive shopping. Every product tells a story of South African artistry and global flair, wrapped up in the fair’s signature garden charm.

A Taste of the Season

No Joburg fair is complete without great food, and Glenshiel never disappoints. This year’s food and drink stalls will serve up everything from indulgent cakes and cookies to gourmet snacks and artisanal beverages.

Guests can relax under the trees, share bites with friends, or sip something refreshing between browsing sessions. The combination of fine food and friendly energy makes it a true feast for all senses.

Giving Back, the Glenshiel Way

Beyond its beauty and buzz, the Glenshiel Fair carries a strong charitable mission. All proceeds from entry and raffle tickets support the Order of St John, a non-profit that provides eye care, first aid, youth programmes, and community healthcare across South Africa.

Funds raised have helped the organisation train healthcare workers in under-resourced communities and refurbish a mobile eye clinic that reaches rural areas through projects like the Phelophepa Train. Attending the fair means being part of a cause that changes lives.

Plan Your Visit

The fair runs daily from 9 am to 8 pm, with a preview evening on Wednesday, 22 October (5 pm–9 pm). Preview tickets include drinks, canapés, and first access to shop the stalls.

So, whether you’re hunting for handmade treasures, tasting something new, or simply soaking up the sunshine among friends, Glenshiel is where Johannesburg comes to unwind, give back, and celebrate life in style.
