The RMB Latitudes Art Fair 2025 is set to return to Johannesburg’s Shepstone Gardens from 23 to 25 May, bringing together an impressive assembly of over 300 artists and 50 galleries from across Africa. Now in its third edition, this event continues to redefine the African art scene by fostering collaboration and creative exchange.

Celebrating Co-Production and African Creativity

The 2025 theme, “CO-PRODUCTION,” highlights the power of collaboration in the arts. According to co-founder and director Lucy MacGarry, the fair aims to connect galleries, artists, and institutions in new ways, showcasing what can be achieved when diverse creative forces come together.

The fair features established galleries such as Southern Guild, Stevenson, and Everard Read, alongside innovative spaces like FEDE Arthouse and AMG Projects from Nigeria, reflecting the continent’s vibrant and diverse artistic ecosystem.

Highlights to Experience at RMB Latitudes 2025

INDEX: Invisible Thread
Curated by artist Bonolo Kavula, this exhibition spotlights eight independent artists exploring identity and connection through mixed media, printmaking, textiles, and sculpture.
Disturbed Currents: Art for a Warming World
An outdoor exhibition in the gardens that examines the relationship between climate change and human experience through impactful artworks.
ESSAY Exhibition
Featuring the stoneware sculptures of Amalie von Maltitz alongside Sydney Kumalo’s charcoal drawings, this exhibit offers a quiet yet profound artistic dialogue.
Design Showcase
In partnership with Design Week South Africa, the fair introduces a new design section featuring 25 African brands, including Duck Duck Goose, Pichulik, and The Herd, with exclusive pop-ups and a curated retail space.
The Pulse Lounge
Designed by Boogertman + Partners, this architectural pavilion offers visitors a serene space to rest and engage within the energetic atmosphere of the fair.
