When the workweek finally winds down and the city’s hum softens into a Friday evening glow, The Maslow Sandton invites couples to step into something extraordinary. Their Friday Fivefold Indulgence isn’t just a dinner; it’s a carefully orchestrated experience designed to slow time and rekindle connection over five exquisite courses.
Hosted on the last Friday of each month from August to October 2025, this new addition to Sandton’s dining scene transforms the start of the weekend into an evening of flavour, style, and subtle romance.
Where Elegance Meets Ease
Executive Sous Chef Thokozane Shongwe and his team have designed a menu that feels both luxurious and approachable. Set inside Lacuna Bistro, The Maslow’s signature restaurant, the atmosphere balances polished sophistication with relaxed comfort. Couples arrive dressed in Smart Elegant attire, greeted by soft lighting, a refined wine list, and the sense that every detail has been thoughtfully placed.
The inspiration behind this concept, the hotel says, comes from the pace of city life. It’s a moment for busy professionals to pause and reconnect, a reminder that the best Fridays are those that feel like an escape without ever leaving town.
A Journey Through Five Courses
The evening begins with a delicate prawn arancini amuse-bouche, paired with a marinara aioli that sets the tone for what’s to come. Starters follow, offering a choice between a creamy mussel hot pot with toasted ciabatta and salsa verde or a beef tartare layered with capers, truffle aioli, and a golden egg yolk.
A refreshing lemon sorbet with grilled pineapple and rum salsa cleanses the palate before guests move to their chosen main:

The finale offers three indulgent dessert options: a warm malva pudding with rooibos custard, a delicate baked milk tart, or a local cheese selection served with preserves and crackers.

The Price of Pure Indulgence
For R1350 per couple, the Fivefold Indulgence includes all five courses and runs from 6 pm to 9 pm. The experience takes place at Lacuna Bistro, The Maslow Hotel, 146 Rivonia Road, Sandown, Sandton, on 31 October 2025.
