A bomb threat in Johannesburg temporarily halted Singapore Airlines flight SQ478 from Singapore to Cape Town via Johannesburg, causing a five-hour delay. All passengers and crew members disembarked safely upon landing at OR Tambo International Airport, while security checks were conducted and the airline cooperated with the authorities in their investigation as reported by Today Online.

Despite the disruption, Singapore Airlines reassured customers and staff of their unwavering commitment to safety.

“We take security matters seriously,” the airline stated, declining to provide further details.

Fortunately, the additional security checks were successfully completed, and the flight departed Johannesburg and arrived in Cape Town several hours later than scheduled.
