‘We’re Taking Every Municipality’: McKenzie Rallies Support in Eastern Cape

Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie says his party holds the answers to South Africa’s most pressing issues, from rising crime and joblessness to the collapse of basic services. Addressing a large crowd at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha, McKenzie said South Africans have suffered for too long under failed leadership.
With local government elections approaching next year, McKenzie used the rally to draw attention to the Eastern Cape’s challenges — from rampant youth violence to widespread poverty, pothole-riddled roads, and a lack of support for small businesses.

He condemned the government’s handling of illegal immigration and criticised the state’s failure to tackle rising crime, promising that the PA’s manifesto offers real, implementable solutions.
“Our children are dying in the EC, in Governdale and all the northern areas. Our children are being killed. We can’t be spectators, and we can’t outsource the responsibilities anymore to keep our children safe. That’s why we say we are taking each and every municipality in the EC,” McKenzie said.
He added that the lack of job opportunities and business funding is deepening the crisis, while illegal foreign nationals continue to act with impunity.
“I saw the potholes; it’s a mess. Our country is in problems. People don’t have jobs, people don’t get business funding. Crime is taking over our streets, foreigners are coming here illegally, and they do what they like, and I came here to tell SA that solutions to the problems of SA are in the manifesto points of the Patriotic Alliance,” he said.
