When American pop star Sabrina Carpenter lands a magazine feature, fans usually expect glossy outfits, sharp poses, and her trademark confidence. This time, though, the star happily took a backseat while her two dogs, Goodwin and Louie, turned heads on the cover of Dogue, a playful canine twist on Vogue.

The furry stars of the show

Goodwin, a gentle 14-year-old, has been by Carpenter’s side since she was a teenager herself. Louie, on the other hand, is the new kid in the pack at just one year old. Both pups dressed the part for their shoot, with tiaras, pearl collars, and bows that melted hearts across social media.

Fans online were quick to gush, with comments like “move over, supermodels” and “best cover of the year” trending under reposted images from the shoot. For many, the sight of Carpenter’s dogs enjoying the limelight was refreshing compared to the usual celebrity fashion spreads.

A glimpse of the pop star lifestyle

In her interview with Dogue, Carpenter revealed that her dogs often travel with her on tour, though they’ve never watched her perform. “They wait in my dressing room during the show, which sucks for them, because I think they’d actually enjoy it,” she joked.

Life on the road isn’t always easy for pets, but Carpenter admitted her pups have adapted to the rock-star routine. “Tour is weird for them because it’s a super rock-star lifestyle. They come on the bus.”

Humanlike qualities and unconditional love

Carpenter also opened up about what makes her dogs so special. Goodwin, she explained, has an empathetic nature, with eyes that seem almost human. “He just knows when you’re sick and not feeling well. He’s got a lot of emotion and a lot of stories.”

Louie, meanwhile, is the better listener of the two. “When you call his name, he actually comes to you,” she laughed.

Despite their differences, Carpenter said their biggest shared quality is love. “This sounds cliché, but their best quality is just how genuinely loving and adoring they are. They’re sweet little babies who love to cuddle.”

Why this cover matters

Celebrity pets have long held a soft spot in popular culture, from Paris Hilton’s handbag Chihuahuas to Taylor Swift’s cats. Carpenter’s Dogue cover taps into that tradition, but with a tender twist: it shows the bond between a global pop star and the dogs who’ve been her quiet companions through it all.

For fans, it’s a reminder that behind the fame, Carpenter is still someone who calls her pets her “babies” and lets them take centre stage when it matters.
