Bianca Naidoo pays tribute to Riky Rick on what would have been his 39th birthday

Bianca Naidoo marked what would have been the late rapper Riky Rick‘s 39th birthday with a brief, emotional message on Instagram, calling him the love of her life and saying she missed him more on the day.

On Monday, 20 July, Naidoo posted on her Instagram Story:

“Happy heavenly 39th birthday to the LOML (love of my life). Love and miss you a little more today,”

the message read.

Remembering Riky Rick

Riky Rick, a South African rapper known for hits including “Boss Zonke”, died on 23 February. His death was confirmed by his family; he was believed to have taken his own life.

Family and background

The pair met at a restaurant in Sandton, Gauteng. Bianca Naidoo had a child named Jordan from a previous relationship; Riky Rick stepped into a father role for Jordan. The couple later welcomed a son, Maik, in 2014.

In an interview with Drum, Riky Rick said of meeting Bianca and Jordan:

“When I met Bianca, and subsequently Jordan, I became more serious about my life and where I wanted to go. I knew they would need me to be the best man and father I can be, and later on also when Maik was born. My family gives me purpose,”

On family life, Riky Rick said:

“The most important thing for this family is for everyone to be happy and feel like they belong as a part of something bigger,”

and Bianca was quoted as saying:

“We want happiness to be the key to our family so it’s a learning process every day and we are trying to figure out how to do it right as a unit,”
