No rain for Gauteng this weekend as Saws predicts clear skies

Gauteng residents can expect a dry, mostly clear weekend, with the South African Weather Service (Saws) forecasting no rain for either Pretoria or Johannesburg.

Pretoria outlook

Pretoria will start Saturday mostly clear and then see clear skies throughout the day, according to the forecast. Temperatures are listed at 19°C at 2am and 8am, rising to 27°C at 2pm and easing to 23°C by 8pm. The Saturday minimum is given as 16°C and the maximum as 28°C.

Saws forecasts 0mm of rain and a 0% probability of rain for the day. Winds are expected from the east-northeast at 18.52km/h in the early hours before easing to 9.26km/h in the afternoon and evening.

Sunday in Pretoria is set to remain dry with Saws forecasting

Johannesburg outlook

Johannesburg will also see clear skies but with slightly cooler temperatures than Pretoria. Saturday is forecast to begin at 17°C at 2am and 18°C at 8am, climbing to 24°C at 2pm and settling at 21°C by 8pm. The city’s Saturday minimum is 15°C and the maximum 25°C.

Saws again forecasts 0mm of rain and a 0% probability of rain for Johannesburg on Saturday. Sunday will remain dry and clear, with early-morning temperatures of 18°C and a 2pm temperature of 22°C, a minimum of 15°C and a maximum of 26°C. Winds are expected to remain light, reaching 9.26km/h on Sunday.
