A Proud Milestone For The Kolisi Family

Rachel Kolisi is one proud mom this week as her eldest daughter, Liphelo Madlingozi, steps into a defining chapter of her school journey the matric class of 2026. The South African philanthropist and fitness advocate took to Instagram to share the emotional moment from Liphelo’s school induction ceremony, marking the start of her Grade 11 year.

“Induction day for my girl. Can’t believe we’re at matric already; I remember her starting grade 1 like it was yesterday! So proud of you,” Rachel wrote alongside a series of photos showing her daughter’s radiant smile.

The milestone coincides with the start of South Africa’s 2025 matric exams, a time that often reminds parents how quickly childhood turns into young adulthood.

A Mother’s Reflection

For Rachel, this chapter carries both pride and nostalgia. She has been open about the ups and downs of parenting, often sharing candid glimpses into her family life with her children Liphelo, Liyema, and Keziah.

Rachel and her ex-husband, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, adopted Siya’s siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, in 2014 after the passing of their mother. The siblings had previously been in foster care before joining the Kolisi family a decision that reflected both compassion and commitment.

Even after Rachel and Siya’s divorce in October 2024, she and her children have maintained a close bond, often appearing together in family moments that she shares online.

Celebrating Growth And Resilience

Just a few months ago, in August 2025, Rachel celebrated Liphelo’s 18th birthday in Cape Town with an intimate family dinner at a sushi restaurant. Her Instagram tribute showed the warmth and love shared between mother and daughter, capturing them in a heartfelt embrace.

One of the sweetest moments from the celebration came from Rachel and Siya’s youngest child, Keziah, who made a handmade birthday card that read, “Roses are red, violets are blue, happy birthday to you.”

Looking Ahead

As Liphelo begins her journey toward matric, Rachel’s pride shines through as a reminder of how far the Kolisi family has come from resilience and blended beginnings to milestones filled with love, education, and hope.

With her mother cheering her on, Liphelo’s final school years promise to be a celebration of not only academic achievement but also of family, growth, and the enduring power of support.
