Gayton McKenzie Declares Patriotic Alliance South Africa’s Fastest-Growing Party

Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie isn’t holding back. In a live broadcast on Monday night, he proclaimed that his party isn’t just surviving, it’s growing faster than any other political party in South Africa.
“We are the fastest-growing political party in the country,” McKenzie said emphatically, insisting that this isn’t boastful rhetoric but verifiable fact. “It’s pure facts. We can show you scientifically that we are the fastest-growing political party in South Africa.”
Grassroots Power Over Top-Down Control
McKenzie’s address had a clear message for PA members: don’t wait for instructions from above. He encouraged local leaders to take initiative in their communities. “If you are a real PA member, I want you to know that you must start building where you are. Don’t wait for us to give you instructions. Come tell the leadership, ‘We have got together with the community.’”
Rejecting accusations that the PA operates like a dictatorship, McKenzie contrasted the party with other political organisations. “In other parties, you will never risk that. They make you write exams to select candidates. Here, the community tells us, ‘This is our mayoral candidate, this is our councillor.’ Where have you seen a party like that?”
Electoral Gains Confirm Rising Support
The 2024 general election underscored the party’s upward trajectory. PA captured 2.06% of the national vote, securing nine seats in the National Assembly, a sharp jump from the 0.4% share it managed in 2019. Gauteng and the Northern Cape were among the provinces where the party’s presence grew strongest, signalling that McKenzie’s grassroots strategy is paying off.
Loyalty Over Popularity
Turning to internal party dynamics, McKenzie addressed members considering leaving due to local opposition. “You will not be loved by all people,” he said. “All-around love doesn’t exist. Even at church, at work, at the party… some people don’t like you. Some don’t like me either. Do you think I am going to worry about what they say about me?”
He reminded followers that public perception is often influenced by his past but affirmed that South Africans continue to support him. “I can’t go anywhere in South Africa… people show me love,” he said, citing his supporters across DESEC, the Patriots, and other networks.
Standing Firm
McKenzie concluded with a rallying call for loyalty and resilience. “Now you want to leave the PA? A real PA doesn’t leave, no matter what. Not everybody is going to love you.” His message was clear: growth, grassroots engagement, and loyalty are the pillars of the Patriotic Alliance’s rise – and anyone unwilling to weather criticism has no place in the movement.
Social media reactions to McKenzie’s statements were lively, with PA supporters celebrating the party’s achievements while critics questioned whether the PA’s growth is sustainable beyond major urban centres. Regardless, McKenzie’s message resonates with a growing base of South Africans eager for a political alternative that prioritises community-driven leadership.
