This season, Hi-Tec is asking people to step away from the screen and back into the world around them. Not forever, just long enough to be present.
Always on, rarely present
We live in a world that never seems to be switched off. Our phones are always within reach, notifications compete for our attention, and being connected has become a near-permanent part of everyday life.
But being constantly connected isn’t the same as being truly present.
This season, Hi-Tec is encouraging people to do something simple: Log Out.
Not forever. Not completely. Just long enough to step away from the digital noise and make space for something real: time outdoors.
Why outside?
Log Out taps into a growing desire to spend less time behind screens and more time experiencing the world around us. And there’s no better place to do that than outside.
A trail doesn’t need a notification.
A mountain doesn’t need a signal.
A conversation doesn’t need a screen.
Stepping outside gives us a chance to slow down, explore, move and enjoy the moment. For Hi-Tec, this is a natural extension of what we’ve always believed: getting outdoors isn’t only about where you go, but how you experience it.
Introducing the Log Out Club
Bringing the idea to life is the Hi-Tec Log Out Club, a collective of like-minded people ready to explore, take on new adventures and, importantly, leave their phones behind.
The club grows out of Hi-Tec’s involvement in South Africa’s outdoor communities, creating opportunities for people to meet, move and experience the outdoors together.
It’s not about the latest device, the most followers or the perfect GPS route. It’s about the people around you, the trail ahead and everything happening in the moment.
Where to find us
Throughout the season, the Log Out Club will come to life through a series of hikes, trail experiences and community events, anchored in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
