ABBA Discoland Brings the Ultimate 70’s Party to Johannesburg This November
A Night for Dancing Queens
Johannesburg is about to shimmer under disco lights once again as ABBA Discoland prepares to bring the ultimate throwback party to the city this November. The event, hosted by Like It. Love It., promises a night of sequins, sing-alongs, and pure nostalgia for anyone who grew up loving the Swedish pop icons who defined an era.
Set to take place on Saturday, 1 November 2025, from 5 pm to 10 pm, this will be Joburg’s biggest ABBA-themed celebration, featuring live performers, DJs, themed décor, and even on-stage competitions. The venue is still under wraps, adding a layer of intrigue to what’s already shaping up to be one of the city’s most talked-about events.
Expect Glitter, Glam, and Good Vibes
Fans can look forward to all the favourites: flashing lights, mirrored disco balls, and dance floors that will transport partygoers straight back to the 1970s. With Dancing Queen, Voulez-Vous, and Mamma Mia likely to be on heavy rotation, it’s safe to say no one will be sitting still for long.
The organisers promise “crazy visuals” and “themed drinks” that fit the retro vibe perfectly. Think sparkling cocktails, funky costumes, and a crowd ready to let loose. The event is strictly 18+, so adults can relive their disco days without worrying about bedtime.
A Global Disco Movement Lands in Mzansi
ABBA Discoland isn’t just a one-night Joburg affair. The event is part of a wider tour lighting up cities around the world, from Sydney’s “Dance Through the Decades” silent disco to Cape Town’s very own Discoland party happening the same weekend.
For South Africans, it’s a chance to be part of a global celebration that keeps ABBA’s timeless music alive and kicking. There’s something universal about hearing Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! or Take a Chance on Me blaring through a crowd of glittering fans. It’s more than a party; it’s a shared cultural moment.
How to Get Your Groove On
Early bird tickets are already open via the official signup link at DiscoLandSA. Whether you come dressed as Agnetha, Anni-Frid, or a full-on 70s disco king, one thing’s for sure: the crowd will be ready to sparkle.
Johannesburg, it’s time to dust off those platforms, pull out the sequins, and show the world that when it comes to disco fever, the city still knows how to bring the heat.
