The Sharks are gearing up for a thrilling United Rugby Championship (URC) match against the Stormers at Kings Park, Durban, on Saturday. Siya Kolisi will lead the team in what promises to be an intense local derby.
A Strong Springbok-Laden Squad
The Sharks have named a squad filled with Springbok stars just a week after their final November Tour match against Wales. Kolisi, playing at No. 8, will be joined by Ox Nche, Vincent Koch, Lukhanyo Am, Makazole Mapimpi, and others.
The team will, however, miss Eben Etzebeth due to a face injury and Bongi Mbomambi, who is unavailable for personal reasons. Jason Jenkins, another Springbok, has been selected to fill the gap at No. 4.
“This weekend is huge for us,” Jenkins stated. “We want to make Kings Park a fortress and maintain our momentum.”
The Stormers have struggled with consistency this season, winning only two of their first five games. The Sharks, after a surprising loss to Benetton, have recovered with consecutive victories.
“Local derbies are always personal,” Jenkins said. “We know what the Stormers bring, and we’re ready to face them head-on.”
Sharks Squad for Kings Park Showdown
As the Sharks look to strengthen their position in the URC standings, the stage is set for a fierce contest. With Kolisi’s leadership and a powerful lineup, Sharks fans have every reason to expect an electrifying game at Kings Park.
