“Big Girl Moves Only”: A new chapter begins

Londie London is flipping the script once again, this time with a set of salon keys in hand. The Johannesburg-based singer, influencer, and reality TV star has just launched her latest business venture: a brand-new hair salon in one of Joburg’s most stylish neighbourhoods.

In a video shared with her 1.3 million Instagram followers, the Real Housewives of Durban star unveiled the soon-to-be-completed space. “Big Girl moves only,” she wrote, beaming with pride. “One of many.”

And just like that, the comment section lit up with love.

Friends, fans, and fellow industry women poured in their congratulations. From @mrs.jojo.robinson’s string of red hearts to @coachlindiwemohaule_ praising her as “a girl working on her feet,” the message was clear: Mzansi’s rooting for her.

A woman rebuilding on her own terms

Londie’s newest business move comes after a string of public challenges, including a highly scrutinised break-up with her ex-fiancé, businessman Hlubi Nkosi. Since then, she’s made it a point to regain control of her narrative and her brand.

She’s been candid about the toll of internet gossip, especially the idea that she’s reliant on men for her success. Speaking on On the Couch with Wendy Mbatha, she revealed how painful those assumptions have been.

“There’s a new misconception now,” she said. “Just because I shared that I went through a rough patch, people think I’m broke, that I don’t have a house or a car. It’s just sad people still say things like that.”

But this salon says otherwise. It speaks volumes.

From housewife to business powerhouse

This isn’t Londie’s first foray into beauty. She’s been steadily expanding her presence in the hair industry, launching premium products and now, a physical space that could serve as a flagship for her growing empire.

She’s also juggling motherhood, fame, and frequent tabloid attention, including the unforgettable moment from season five of The Real Housewives of Durban, when a heated clash with Gagasi FM’s Minnie Ntuli left viewers shocked and protective.

Following the altercation, where Ntuli was seen poking Londie in the forehead while hurling insults, viewers took to social media to demand consequences. Londie, however, chose her own route: strength and silence. In July, she confirmed plans to pursue legal action.

“Life has thrown so much at me,” she later reflected, “but I always come out stronger.”

Not just a salon: A statement

In a country where women in entertainment often get boxed in and written off, Londie’s latest venture is about more than hair. It’s a statement, one that says she’s not just surviving; she’s thriving.

She’s turning doubt into discipline and drama into drive. And while the salon might still be under construction, the foundation of something powerful has already been laid.

As the new season of life begins, one thing is clear: this isn’t just a glow-up. It’s a comeback.
