KUNYE Jozi IX: A Homecoming for South Africa’s Sound

Together as one
On 8 November 2025, Huddle Park in Linksfield will transform into the heartbeat of Johannesburg’s music scene as KUNYE Jozi IX takes centre stage. Running from midday until 10pm, the festival promises more than just music. It’s a gathering that celebrates what makes South African house music unique: rhythm, roots, and community.
KUNYE, which means “together as one,” is more than a festival brand. It is a movement aimed at shining a global spotlight on South Africa’s musical heritage while nurturing the next wave of African producers. This year’s Jozi edition will carry that mission forward, blending familiar names with rising talents in a lineup designed to keep the dance floor alive all day.
A proudly South African stage
Johannesburg has long been the country’s cultural capital, where new sounds are tested and shared before they travel the world. KUNYE taps into that legacy, building a platform that feels deeply rooted in South Africa while resonating across borders. For many Joburgers, the festival is not just entertainment but a point of pride, a reminder that our sound is shaping global electronic music conversations.
What festivalgoers need to know
Huddle Park, with its wide-open grounds, will host the festival in a cashless format. Entry is strictly for those over 18, and organisers strongly encourage the use of rideshare services such as Uber to ease parking pressures. As with all KUNYE events, safety comes first. Weapons, cooler boxes, camp chairs, and illegal substances are prohibited, and a Right of Admission Reserved policy applies.
Beyond the beat
KUNYE has always been about more than who headlines the stage. It is about fostering a sense of music family where fans and artists stand shoulder to shoulder, united in sound. With each edition, it builds cultural bridges, connects generations, and keeps South Africa’s house music story alive.
Jozi IX will be no different. Expect a day where music becomes memory, where the beat speaks to heritage, and where Joburg shows why it remains Africa’s music capital.
