The Parkview Christmas Market Returns to Bring Holiday Magic to Johannesburg
Where Tradition, Charity, and Christmas Magic Meet
If you’ve ever spent a warm Johannesburg evening surrounded by twinkling lights, laughter, and the smell of roasted nuts drifting through the air, then you already know there’s nothing quite like The Parkview Christmas Market. And this year, the city’s most-loved festive event is back, bigger, brighter, and full of heart.
Set in the leafy calm of George Hay Park in Parkview, the three-day celebration will run from Friday, 21 November, to Sunday, 23 November, 2025. More than just a market, it’s a Joburg institution that turns one of the city’s prettiest neighbourhoods into a pocket of Christmas wonder.
A Festive Weekend to Remember
The market kicks off on Friday from 3 pm to 10 pm, followed by a full day of festive fun on Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm, and closes on Sunday at 4 pm.
Visitors can expect a mix of live music, gourmet food, and unique local shopping, all with a distinctly Jozi flair. The famous Oyster and Bubbly Bar will be back, serving sparkling drinks alongside cheeseboards and smoked trout. Families can enjoy Saturday night’s open-air movie screening, where picnic blankets and fairy lights create the perfect outdoor cinema setting.
And because Christmas is for everyone, kids get their own slice of joy with a dedicated Kids Zone featuring inflatables, arts and crafts, games, and a chance to meet new friends while parents unwind under the summer lights.
For shoppers, more than 75 curated stalls will offer everything from handmade ornaments and jewellery to home décor, natural skincare, and artisanal treats. It’s the ideal place to tick off your Christmas list while supporting small local businesses.
Giving Back Through Celebration
Beyond the festive food and music, the Parkview Christmas Market stands out for its sense of purpose. All proceeds from the event go directly to Nicarela Charity, which supports a range of community organisations, including The Living Link, Bethany House Trust, MES, Guild Cottage, and REEA Foundation.
In other words, every ticket, glass of bubbly, and handcrafted candle you buy helps make a difference in someone’s life. It’s a beautiful reminder that the spirit of Christmas shines brightest when shared.
Tickets are priced at R60 per person, with free entry for children under 12, making it an accessible outing for families and friends looking to reconnect and celebrate before December’s rush.
A Jozi Christmas Tradition
Now in its 2025 edition, the Parkview Christmas Market has become a beloved part of the city’s holiday calendar. It’s where old friends reunite, children chase bubbles under the trees, and new memories are made against a soundtrack of carols and laughter.
For many, it marks the true beginning of the festive season, a joyful weekend where Joburg slows down, communities come together, and generosity takes centre stage.
So bring your family, your appetite, and your Christmas spirit. Because this November, Parkview promises to deliver the magic once again.
