R21-million Lotto: draw numbers, prize split and claiming basics

Lotto and Lotto Plus 1 and 2 on Wednesday 20 May 2026 recovered slightly to a combined R21 million in total prizes: R8.5 million for Lotto, R5 million for Lotto Plus 1 and R7.5 million for Lotto Plus 2.

The Saturday draw produced the following numbers.

  • Lotto: 34, 40, 42, 45, 56, 58 Bonus ball: 52
  • Lotto Plus 1: 09, 11, 15, 34, 49, 53 Bonus ball: 38
  • Lotto Plus 2: 08, 15, 16, 19, 25, 36 Bonus ball: 11

Playing notes and claim rules

According to the national lottery information in the source: games can be played in store or digitally until the end of the month. Ticket sales close at 20:30 on draw days. Entry costs shown in the source are R5 for Lotto and an extra R2.50 each for Lotto Plus 1 and 2.

To claim a prize you must be in possession of the winning ticket (or winning SMS/email confirmation), be 21 years or older, hold a valid ID and have a valid South African bank account. Winnings must be claimed within 365 days of the draw date.

Where to claim: retail stores pay out up to R2 000. Winnings over R10 000 but less than R50 000 must be claimed at an Approved Prize Payment Centre (APPC).
