Decomposed body recovered from Trichardtspruit near Trichardt pump station

Emergency teams recovered a severely decomposed body from the Trichardtspruit on July 6, according to The Citizen (Ridge Times).

What happened

According to The Citizen (Ridge Times), Delta 1 Search Rescue retrieved the body of a white man from the Trichardtspruit today, July 6. Delta 1 Rescue Diving received a call at around 15:30 reporting a body found in the spruit behind VW MasterCars in Ebrahim Daya Street, near the Trichardt pump station.

Response and next steps

The Citizen (Ridge Times) reports that emergency services and all relevant role players were on the scene while the body was recovered. The deceased was transported by forensic pathology services to the government mortuary, and Trichardt police have opened an inquest docket.
