Ramaphosa meets Amazon South Africa executives to drive investment and jobs
President Cyril Ramaphosa has met with the executive team of Amazon South Africa as part of the government’s efforts to attract investment, accelerate digital transformation and create jobs.
The Presidency said the meeting formed part of its broader strategy to strengthen South Africa’s economy by partnering with global technology companies and encouraging investment in the country’s digital sector.

The engagement follows an investment announcement by Amazon Web Services (AWS) at the South Africa Investment Conference, where the company committed to expanding its cloud infrastructure in South Africa.
According to the Presidency, the investment reinforces confidence in South Africa’s investment environment and its long-term economic potential.
Government said collaboration with technology and innovation companies is aimed at strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure, equipping South Africans with future-ready skills, supporting entrepreneurship and creating employment opportunities.
The meeting comes as the government continues to seek investment commitments from both local and international companies to stimulate economic growth, expand digital capabilities and address the country’s high unemployment rate.
