Durban M4 crash: Vehicle bursts into flames as multiple cars collide

Emergency services are responding to a serious multi-vehicle crash on Durban’s M4 Ruth First Highway, where one vehicle has reportedly burst into flames.

The collision occurred on the northbound carriageway near Hyper by the Sea, according to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.

Jamieson said several vehicles were involved in the crash and that one was well alight when emergency crews arrived.

He added that fatalities were suspected at the scene, although the number of people involved and the full extent of the injuries had not yet been confirmed.
