Johannesburg Water Outage to Impact 50 Suburbs on Monday for Critical Maintenance

Johannesburg residents in 50 suburbs are set to experience a full-day water outage on Monday, as Johannesburg Water undertakes essential infrastructure maintenance at the Hector Norris Pump Station.
The water shutdown will occur from 9 am to 7 pm, affecting areas such as the Johannesburg CBD, Houghton, Hyde Park, and Saxonwold. The maintenance will include a test run to verify isolation capabilities at the pump station, a key step in installing new isolation valves.
The widespread outage will stretch from Newtown and Fordsburg in the west to Linksfield and Glenhazel in the east, and from Parktown in the north to Rosettenville and La Rochelle in the south.
Johannesburg Water has assured residents that water tankers will be deployed to affected areas to provide temporary relief. This measure aims to minimize disruptions for residents and businesses during the maintenance period.
