The daily journey between Alexandra and Sandton is about to become faster, safer, and more affordable with the upcoming Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Phase 1C route.

Currently, over 10,000 people walk between Alexandra and Sandton every day, often due to the high costs of public transport or lack of reliable alternatives. The Rea Vaya Phase 1C route will offer these commuters a better, more affordable, and more efficient way to travel to work and other destinations.

This new BRT route will allow people to travel longer distances at a lower cost, providing a safer and more sustainable transport option compared to minibus taxis and private cars.

What to Expect from Rea Vaya Phase 1C

  • Better Connectivity: Linking Alexandra to Sandton, Johannesburg CBD, and other key areas
  • Lower Transport Costs: More affordable fares compared to taxis and private transport
  • Improved Infrastructure: Dedicated bus lanes to ensure faster and more reliable service
  • Eco-Friendly Travel: Reduced congestion and lower carbon emissions

The Rea Vaya infrastructure rollout is underway, and officials will provide updates on construction progress, station locations, and launch timelines.

Stay tuned for more information as Johannesburg’s transport network takes a major step forward in accessibility and affordability.
