A R100,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible for the brutal murder of two Rea Vaya bus drivers in Johannesburg.

The tragic incident occurred on January 15, 2025, when the bus drivers were shot and killed during a robbery while driving a Rea Vaya bus. The attackers reportedly boarded the bus, demanding cash, before opening fire on the unsuspecting drivers.

The killings have left the Johannesburg public reeling, particularly as the victims were well-known and respected members of the community. Authorities are working diligently to investigate the incident, but so far, no arrests have been made.

The reward was issued by the South African Police Service (SAPS) and local authorities in a bid to encourage members of the public to come forward with any information. SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Siphiwe Ndlovu called on anyone with knowledge of the incident to help bring the perpetrators to justice.

“This is a heinous crime, and we need the help of the public to ensure that those responsible are held accountable,” Ndlovu stated.
