City Power has announced planned power interruptions across parts of Johannesburg for the week of 20 to 26 July 2026, warning residents that crews will carry out routine maintenance and upgrades to electrical infrastructure.

City Power urged residents to remain cautious during outages and to “treat all electrical supply points as live at all times during the interruption period, as power supply may be restored earlier than anticipated.” The utility advised households to unplug appliances during interruptions to avoid damage when power returns.
