Police hunt suspects after Khayelitsha triple murder

Three adults were shot dead at a residence in Khayelitsha on Saturday evening, and the South African Police Service (Saps) said investigators are pursuing leads as they search for the unknown shooters.

What happened

Provincial police responded to reports of a shooting at a home on Pama Road, Site B, where they found the bodies of two adult men and an adult woman. All three victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.

The source report also notes a separate matter: television presenter and rapper Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye was arrested on the East Rand after an alleged incident involving the alleged kidnapping of an e-hailing driver and shots fired during a confrontation linked to his girlfriend.

Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said the incident occurred at 7:30am and that the driver managed to escape unharmed and reported the matter to police, who arrested the suspect shortly after. Maarohanye is expected to appear before the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 15 June 2026.

The Khayelitsha triple murder remains under active investigation by Saps as officers pursue available leads.
