Thabo Bester Claims R30 Million Worth of Goods Went Missing After Arrest
Thabo Bester claims he is missing about R30 million worth of ill-gotten luxury goods that reportedly disappeared after his arrest, adding another layer of intrigue to an already complex legal situation.
According to 2oceansvibe, Bester and Dr Nandipha Magudumana were apprehended in Tanzania in April. However, he now alleges that valuable items, likely stemming from criminal activities, were somehow lost in the process.
Bester’s story took a perplexing turn when it was revealed he hadn’t died in a cell fire as previously thought. Instead, witnesses found he and Magudumana lived in a rented luxury home in Johannesburg’s Hyde Park, remarkably close to prominent individuals like Julius Malema and President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Bester and Magudumana were recently seen side by side in court with 10 other suspects connected to Bester’s escape. Their interactions in court, which some observers have characterised as affectionate, stand in stark contrast to the serious charges they are facing.
Among the alleged stolen items are six watches, each valued at over R2.5 million, contributing to the estimated R30 million possessions Bester claims vanished. Many of these assets appear acquired during his run and through activities even while incarcerated.
Bester is notorious for questionable activities, including organising a Women in Media event through a company miming 21st Century Fox. His list of missing items includes designer electronics, luxury accessories, and high-end watches. Bester even filed a case at Lanseria Police Station regarding the missing goods.
This ongoing trial promises more revelations, further uncovering the extent of Bester’s actions. The legal proceedings will provide a clearer understanding of the situation and the fate of the missing items.
