Beardless and Bold: Jason Momoa’s Clean-Shaven Look Has the Internet Spiralling

Aquaman trades in his iconic beard for a cause, and fans are freaking out.
Jason Momoa has always been known for his rugged good looks and signature beard. But in a move that left fans across the world stunned, the Hollywood star revealed a completely clean-shaven face in a new Instagram video.
Momoa, who last shaved six years ago, didn’t just pick up a razor for the fun of it. The dramatic moment doubled as a passionate pitch for his sustainable water brand, Mananalu, and a new closed-loop bottling initiative launched in partnership with Get Boomerang Water.
“God dammit, I hate it,” he laughed mid-shave, clearly feeling the shock alongside his millions of followers.
From fur to fresh: Fans react
The shave wasn’t just a trim. It was a full farewell to a feature fans had grown to love. Social media users on X (formerly Twitter) responded with everything from heartbreak to hilarity.
@millenialaf84: “Not to be dramatic, but this is like watching an angel lose their wings.”
@djtoxicq_: “Whoever gave him this advice needs to be subpoenaed.”
@vfssantos00: “Now, it looks like his name is Earl, and he is a truck driver from Kansas.”
The transformation comes ahead of filming for Dune: Part Three, the highly anticipated sequel where Momoa reprises his role as Duncan Idaho, a legendary warrior and loyal protector of Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet.

A clean shave for a cleaner planet
Momoa’s choice to shed the beard was deeply personal. As the founder of Mananalu, he’s long advocated for alternatives to single-use plastic. His latest partnership aims to reduce waste even further by bottling and sanitising water on-site.
“This is the future,” Momoa said in the video. “Let’s get rid of single-use plastic for our children and for our planet. All my aloha, J.”
With production on Dune: Part Three ramping up, fans can also expect to see Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and a new addition; rumours suggest that Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, Jason’s real-life teenage son with Lisa Bonet, may also join the cast.
Reinvention with purpose
Jason Momoa’s new look is more than just a makeover. It’s a reset. A public statement on environmental responsibility, sustainable living, and embracing change, whether that’s in your reflection or your legacy.
So, while his beard may be gone, his mission and momentum are stronger than ever.
