Lil Nas X Booked After Nearly Naked Street Incident in Los Angeles

Los Angeles woke up to one of the more surreal celebrity moments this week when rapper Lil Nas X was taken into police custody after being spotted walking nearly naked through the streets of Studio City. Wearing only underwear and a pair of white cowboy boots, the Grammy-winning artist turned an ordinary pre-dawn street into a stage for yet another headline-making performance.
A late-night spectacle
Videos published by TMZ show Lil Nas X strutting down a major LA road, engaging directly with the person filming him. At one point, he playfully told the driver not to be late for “the party tonight,” although it was never clear what party he meant. He also demanded the phone be handed over so he could “throw it far away” because, as he put it, he didn’t like phones.
In another clip, the star appeared to wag his finger at the camera, theatrically warning that someone was “going to have to pay for that.” At one stage, he even placed a traffic cone on his head, adding to the scene’s bizarre nature.

Police response and arrest
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were called just before dawn after reports of a nude man wandering the street. When police arrived, the suspect allegedly charged at them. He was subdued, taken to a local hospital for a possible overdose evaluation, and later booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery on a police officer. Some outlets have also described the charge as obstruction, but both accounts refer to the same arrest.
Although the LAPD spokesperson did not name the individual, images published by TMZ clearly identified him as Lil Nas X. The artist’s team has yet to release any statement.
Public reaction and wider context
Fans online were split in their reactions. Some expressed concern for the rapper’s well-being, pointing to the reference to a possible overdose. Others described the incident as another outlandish chapter in a career built on spectacle and provocation.
Lil Nas X, real name Montero Hill, has a history of bold and often controversial public performances, from his breakout hit Old Town Road to his headline-making stage shows and music videos. His ability to blur the line between performance art and personal life has kept him firmly in the spotlight, but Thursday’s events suggest a more troubling edge.
For now, the music world waits for official word from his representatives, while Los Angeles chalks up yet another story in its long tradition of unpredictable celebrity drama.
