R24-million Lotto and Lotto Plus on Wednesday 17 June 2026: low prize, doubled ticket price under new operator

Published

on

Lotto and Lotto Plus on Wednesday 17 June 2026 will carry a combined prize pool of R24 million under the new operator Sizekhaya, with entry priced at R10 per ticket.

Prize breakdown and recent winner

The Wednesday 17 June 2026 draw shows prizes split as R3 million for Lotto, R4.5 million for Lotto Plus 1 and R17 million for the game called Lotto Max 5. The overall pot was reduced after a weekend draw produced a major payout: Sizekhaya paid out R23.5 million to a Saturday winner.

Why players are critical

Criticism has followed because the advertised jackpot figure of R26 million differed from the R23.5 million actually paid out in the weekend win. Sizekhaya’s changes including higher ticket prices and new game mechanics have drawn attention amid claims about payout mechanics and the frequency of jackpot winners.

How the game works under Sizekhaya

Under the revised rules players must choose six different numbers between 1 and 52. Tickets can be selected manually or via Quick Pick. A new optional feature allows players to pick one extra number, called MP1, at seven times the ticket price.

Prizes are awarded from matching at least three of the six drawn numbers, increasing for more matches. Players who match all six numbers win equal shares of the jackpot. The published odds of matching all six are 1 in 20 358 520.

Saturday 13 June 2026 draw numbers

The recent Saturday draw that produced the R23.5-million payout published these numbers:

  • Lotto: 4, 7, 19, 26, 49, 50 MP1: 46
  • Lotto Plus 1: 6, 12, 24, 32, 36, 47 MP1: 49
  • Lotto 5 Max: 5, 12, 19, 21, 30, 46 MP1: 13

Where and how to play

Tickets are available in-store at licensed retailers, online by creating an account, or through the mobile app.

How to claim winnings

Sizekhaya’s published claim requirements state winners must be 18 years of age, present the winning ticket with the correct serial number, provide valid proof of ID and hold a valid South African bank account. Winnings must be claimed within 365 days of the draw date. For further enquiries, Sizekhaya should be contacted directly.
