Urzila Carlson announces first-ever South African comedy tour

Award-winning South African-New Zealander Urzila Carlson will return home for her first-ever South African comedy tour, with performances in Cape Town and Johannesburg in July 2027.

The global comedy star will perform at Auditorium 2, CTICC, Cape Town, on 30 July 2027, before taking the show to Teatro, Montecasino, Johannesburg, on 31 July 2027. The tour is presented by Big Concerts.

Carlson has built an international following through sold-out tours across Australasia, North America and the UK. She is known for her trademark deadpan delivery and sharp observational humour, earning multiple Melbourne International Comedy Festival People’s Choice Awards and six New Zealand Comedy Guild Awards.

Her career includes the Netflix stand-up special Overqualified Loser, appearances on The Masked Singer Australia, Taskmaster NZ and QI, and a starring role alongside Amy Schumer and Will Forte in Netflix’s Kinda Pregnant. The film became Netflix’s most-watched title globally during its first week of release in February 2025 and later recorded 58.9 million views in the platform’s first-half 2025 viewing report.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 9am on Friday, 7 August 2026 through Ticketmaster South Africa and Big Concerts. Mastercard cardholders can access an exclusive presale from 9am on Wednesday, 5 August, while the Big Concerts Fan Club presale opens at 9am on Thursday, 6 August.

The tour has a 16-plus age restriction. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets only through official ticketing partners to avoid invalid resale tickets.
