Johannesburg High Court delays Tiffany Meek trial until September 14, court inspects Fleurhof flat

According to IOL, the trial of Tiffany Meek who is accused of murdering her son, Jayden‑Lee has been postponed until Monday, September 14 after a court inspection of the apartment complex where the pair lived.

In‑loco inspection at Swazi Place

According to IOL, the judge and legal counsel conducted an in‑loco inspection at the Swazi Place apartment complex in Fleurhof, where Meek and her 11‑year‑old son lived. The court did not allow filming of the inspection, but police photographers and other personnel were on site to assist in detailing events for the trial record.

Photographs to be compiled for the record

According to IOL, photographs taken during the inspection will be printed and compiled into an album to be placed on the trial record. The police officer responsible for compiling that album will not be available until next Friday, the report said.

According to IOL, legal counsel decided the matter should be postponed until the album could be handed over so that counsel, Meek and witnesses could refer directly to it during testimony.

Charges, timeline and custody

According to IOL, Meek has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, child abuse, defeating the ends of justice, and crimen injuria in connection with her son’s death.

According to IOL, Jayden‑Lee was reported missing on May 13, 2025, and his lifeless, half‑naked body was found the next day near the staircase in the Swazi Place complex, just metres from the front door of his home.
