Soweto Fashion Week returns with three days of local fashion
Soweto Fashion Week is set to return to Johannesburg from 5 to 7 November, bringing three days of homegrown fashion, emerging talent and established designers to the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani, Joburg Etc reports.
The Spring/Summer 2026 showcase will celebrate South African creativity through collections exploring bold colours, distinctive prints, movement and cultural identity.

Founded in 2011, the platform has spent 15 years creating opportunities for designers to showcase their work, build industry connections and reach wider markets. According to the event’s organisers, Soweto Fashion Week has supported more than 120 designers and 1 000 runway models across its 26 seasons.

The opening evening will introduce nine emerging designers, including RFL Studios, Zimisele and Shirley Joseph. Fashion students from the University of Johannesburg and Tshwane University of Technology will also present their work.
The second evening will feature returning label Mbobo Movement, alongside Precious Lulu Couture, KwaZulu Fashion Hut and Originally Kasified.
The final night will bring fashion and entertainment together, with television presenter Ayanda Nhlapo showcasing House of Ayanda and Afro-soul singer Wanda Baloyi presenting Wanda Wear.
Soweto Fashion Week continues to provide a platform for local designers to develop their brands and take South African fashion to wider audiences.
